About Us

At The Emperor’s Old Clothes we’re dedicated to sustainability in fashion using exclusively vintage fabrics & end-of-roll remnants which would otherwise find their way to landfill.

Not only do we wish to reduce fabric waste we also really enjoy deepening and adding to the story of each vintage material we find. This means that whilst you are buying a brand new item of clothing your ownership and styling is adding to and deepening the narrative of this beautiful cloth.

Another core value of our label is the sustainability of the workplace and team.

Every member of our team is paid the living wage and gets the opportunity to develop their creative skills. We encourage the sharing of expertise and knowledge, and aim to aid the growth of each team member wherever possible.

The Emperor's Old Clothes - Living Wage Employer in Brighton & Hove

Why have we signed up to the living wage campaign?

We believe that every individual has the right to a fair wage, no matter their role or job title. We truly value the skills, diligence and innovation that every member of our team brings to their role at The Emperor’s Old Clothes. We want them to feel valued and have job security – being part of the Living Wage campaign is just one of the ways in which we achieve this.
