At The Emperor’s Old Clothes we are passionate about creating positive change within the fashion industry.
We recognise that the price of sustainable fashion garments can be a big barrier for people who care about how they consume and want to shop more sustainably but cannot afford to do so.
We have created payment plans so you can spread the cost of your ready to wear and design your own garments across 2-6 monthly payments without any effect on your credit score.
To request a payment plan please choose the ‘Pay deposit’ option when adding your order to your cart and choose your preferred option eg ‘2 months’, ‘5 months’ etc.
When you checkout you will make the first payment, you will then receive emails over the next few months to remind you to make you next payment(s).
Please note: you will not receive your item(s) until you have made all your payments. Make sure you read the Terms + Conditions below.

TERMS + CONDITIONS
‘DESIGN YOUR OWN’ PAYMENT PLAN ORDERS
Split the cost of your design your own garment into payments across 2-6 months with our payment plan. Your item(s) will be sent to you in the post when the final payment has been received.
Please note: Design your own orders are non-refundable.
If you receive your design your own item and decide it’s not quite right please contact us via info@theemperorsoldclothes.co.uk and we will happily offer to alter the garment.
You do not have to choose your fabric at the time of placing your order but you must choose and reserve your fabric with us before you make your final payment.
Please note we limit each customer to a maximum of five total payment plans open at any time. If you take out more than five individual garment payment plans we will request that you pay at least one payment plan off in full straight away or we may have to cancel your order(s) to reduce the number of your payment plans back down to five. (One garment = one payment plan).
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
To request a payment plan please choose the ‘Pay deposit’ option when adding your order to your cart and choose your preferred option eg ‘4 months’.
When you checkout you will make the first payment, you will then receive emails over the next few months to remind you to make you next payment(s).
IMPORTANT
You will receive automated emails prompting you to make your subsequent payments each month. If we do not hear from you and do not receive the payment within 14 days of you receiving your email prompt we can no longer reserve the garment for you and any payments you have already made will be transferred into store credit to be used within 6 months of the date of the missed payment.
If you have not used your store credit within the first five months of this period we will contact you to remind you of your store credit expiry date.
We cannot offer extensions or renewals of store credit; if you do not use your store credit within the 6 month validity period you will lose your credit. By placing an order with a payment plan you are consenting to these terms & conditions.
READY TO WEAR PAYMENT PLAN ORDERS

Please note: Orders placed via payment plans are non-refundable. Offers & discounts are not applicable for payment plan purchases.

RETURNS
If you receive your ready to wear item and decide it’s not quite right please contact us via info@theemperorsoldclothes.co.uk and we can discuss how the garment can be altered for a better fit.
If you wish to return your ready to wear garment we will send you a store credit coupon code that can be used against a future purchase when we have received the item back in perfect condition. This coupon code will be valid for up to 6 months. Any damage to the returned garment will remove your right to store credit.
Please note ready to wear garments that have been customised are non-returnable.
