The Gathered Skirt is a super versatile wardrobe staple.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR FABRIC + PLACE YOUR ORDER:
1. Choose your fabric by heading to our instagram fabric gallery
Each fabric has a reference number & details of which of our designs + sizes it is suitable for. Comment on the instagram post or email us via info@theemperorsoldclothes.co.uk to reserve it – we generally only have enough of each fabric for 1-2 garments so this step is really important!
Your fabric reservation lasts for 72 hours so please place your order during this time otherwise the fabric will become available to other customers.
2. Place your order here – double-check you have the correct garment style.
Don’t forget to write your body measurements in the order notes! Don’t have a tape measure to hand? Send them to us via email in the next 7 days.
Important: if you have reserved your fabric on Instagram please write the fabric reference number in the order notes when you are entering your payment details.
3. Sit back, make a cup of tea + get excited about your one of a kind garment!
GARMENT DETAILS:
With gathered waist detail + plenty of volume, this high-waisted skirt finishes just below the knee. This gathered skirt fastens with a fastening and side zip.
WAYS TO WEAR:
For all year round wear style the skirt with a long sleeved top and ankle boots to keep you warm in the colder months.
The gathered skirt is a simple but classic piece, with the ability to be dressed up or down. Pair with a simple tee, sandals and wicker basket for summer.
When the seasons change add tights, ankle boots & a chunky black knit.
Feel good fashion! This gathered skirt will be created by our team in our Brighton studio for a living wage. Every piece we make is totally unique and will not be reproduced.

I absolutely love my Emperor’s skirt. I knew I wanted an abstract fabric with every rainbow colour in it, so when it finally came around in the email previews, I jumped on it. My waist measurement doesn’t change, so I opted for a wide flowy skirt in the form of a gathered skirt where the only important measurement really is the waist. I added a frill for a bit of a kick.
