Our gathered pinafore dress is a fun take on dungarees for those who don’t like to wear trousers.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR FABRIC + PLACE YOUR ORDER:

1. Choose your fabric by heading to our instagram fabric gallery

Each fabric has a reference number & details of which of our designs + sizes it is suitable for. Comment on the instagram post or email us via info@theemperorsoldclothes.co.uk to reserve it – we generally only have enough of each fabric for 1-2 garments so this step is really important!

2. Place your order here – double-check you have the correct garment style.

Your fabric reservation lasts for 72 hours so please place your order during this time otherwise the fabric will become available to other customers.

Important: make sure to write your size + fabric reference number in the order notes when you are entering your payment details.

3. Sit back, make a cup of tea + get excited about your one of a kind garment!

GARMENT DETAILS:

Like all our playsuits & dungarees, this dungaree dress comes with a side popper, zip fastening, metal brace clips and adjustable shoulder straps for your comfort – or choose your own fastenings.

Our gathered pinafore dress is a fun alternative to traditional dungarees.

WAYS TO WEAR:

For all year round wear style the dress with a high-neck top underneath and ankle boots to keep you warm in the colder months.

Dress up with clutch bag & heels or go for a relaxed feel with summer basket, sunglasses & sandals.

When the temperature drops just add tights, ankle boots & a cosy knit for all year round joy.

Feel good fashion! This gathered pinafore dress will be created by our small team in our Brighton studio for a living wage. Every piece we make is totally unique and will not be reproduced.

Emperor’s old Clothes gathered pinafores are such a beautiful way to use fabrics. I love how you can make a gathered pinafore with the fanciest fabric there is and it still feels wearable every day due to the style. The cross back is so wonderful as the straps will not fall off your shoulders and they’re a fabulous garment for dressing up or making casual with just a casual top under (or over.) I have variations: with a sweetheart bib (so cute!) and bibless, which is such a cool style to wear and I wear my bibless gathered pinafore very often indeed. And you can even add ruffles to the bib to make it even cuter. I hugely recommend this style, especially if you are seeking a garment that’s wearable for any occasion at all!
