I love this style so much. Everyone was so helpful about helping me customize a recent circle skirt: I got a work and play appropriate skirt in a medium weight floral cotton, with a little volume taken out, and a slightly longer length, and it’s perfect.

I bought an emperors circle skirt about 4 years ago now, in a gorgeous chunky red cord, as an autumn/winter item and I have worn it every year since! It’s referred to as my Christmas skirt and it’s so swishy and amazing, and a joy to wear. The heavier fabric makes it ideal for cooler weather and I pair it with thick tights and boots.

I find my Emperor’s circle skirts are perfect for twirling, and super comfy. They’re also versatile across different seasons – they’re floaty enough to wear in the summer, but I also layer them up in the colder months with tights and a cosy jumper. Side-seam pockets, a fine cotton lining (unattached) and a bit of elastic in the waistband are my usual go-to options for the circle skirt. Both my Emperor’s circle skirts are in a lightweight double-gauze cheesecloth, which I highly recommend choosing if you’re not sure where to begin for your first circle-skirt! 🙂
